And this was Sunday Runday today….

At one point I actually told Mary that I wished I had worn crops because I was warm. It feels so bizarre to have such mild temperatures with no snow right now. I’m not complaining and wouldn’t mind if it stayed like this for awhile longer, but I see snow in the forecast for next week.

Instead of our usual morning run, we ended up heading out in the afternoon instead. While I find it harder to drag myself out of bed and get motivated in the morning, I felt way more sluggish in the afternoon (especially after a carb filled lunch with my dad). Regardless, we managed a slow 4k.

“Me and these 3 lovely ladies tied our sneakers up at 8am to hit Crimson Lake! It was a beautiful morning!”  <– Dannielle (far left) is an old friend from jr. high who has been killing it with her running after recovering from a severe disc herniation. Definitely inspired by this girl for hitting the trails and getting faster and stronger.

Shoutout to Kaella, Tawnya and June running the Rock N Roll Las Vegas Half Marathon tonight. I’m suffering from FOMO watching their snaps from the weekend!

Did you get out to run today?

If you’re new to Sunday Runday, it’s a weekly running date for anyone and everyone to join. It doesn’t matter the distance, the time if you’re brand new or a seasoned marathoner, heck you don’t even need to run. Walk, jog, run, spin, lift, bend, move. The point is just to have fun and motivate each other to get on our feet. Get out there snap a pic, and send me your mini recap to becky at thebexfactor dot com before 7pm MST every single Sunday to be featured in this post. Or, post to social media and share the link below. If you’re a fellow blogger, grab the banner and join the link-up with your favourite run chat from the week!

Sunday Sunday #65

Despite both battling colds, Mary and I showed up for our Sunday run this morning. We even showed up in basically the same outfits. I love when we are accidentally twinning. We suffered through about 4km of mostly walking and life chats with a bit of running thrown in the mix. As long as we’re moving our bodies, that’s what counts right? It was a gorgeous, still morning on a quiet trail that we don’t visit enough. I think last time we ran there we said we needed to run that trail more often and then never went back. So, next week remind us that we need to go back to that trail again, ok?

I tested out my new Brooks Glycerin 14’s and basically it was love at first step.

Shoutout to my fellow book clubber Erin who ran the New York Marathon today and to my friend June who finished Lumiere’s Two Course Challenge today in Orlando! And to Cassandra who snapped me video of those Disney runners while she’s on vacation not running :p

Sunday Runday #64

This morning, Liam got invited over to his friend’s place to play with her and her new kitty while Mary and I went for our Sunday run. He was so thrilled, he didn’t even care that he didn’t get to come running with us like he originally wanted.

Mary and I headed to one of my favourite trails in the city for a chilly 4.5km. When I checked the temperature before leaving, it was only -2 but it felt much colder and I wish I would have worn something over my ears. It’s difficult transitioning into running in the colder temperatures and figuring out what to wear again.

One of my favourite features of my watch is seeing how well I recover after a run or workout. Apparently today I didn’t recover as well as usual, though….
