Weekend Recap

While I have almost no photos from the entire weekend, it was a really great one.

Friday

Liam is at his dads so after work I came home to BBQ and catch up on some emails while watching America’s Got Talent. I’ve never watched the show for a full season, just an episode here and there and thought I’d start this one from the beginning. It’s so good. Has anyone else been watching? Later in the evening, I popped over to Cassandra’s house with a bottle of wine to toast her belated birthday.

Saturday

I was awake and out the door just after 8am for my long run. Once I was back home, I had a shower and got ready for the day, watched another episode of AGT and read my latest book while waiting for my cousin and his family to arrive.

We were off to Lacombe for a late lunch at Cilantro and Chive followed by a pint at Blindman Brewing, which I had yet to visit. We were also planning a stop for ice cream, since the ice cream shop here makes Nibs flavoured ice cream and is our absolute favourite, but we were due at the lake for dinner with the rest of our family so we had to skip out.

Once I was home again, I curled up on the couch for, you guess it, another episode of AGT.

Sunday

I headed to Pound class first thing in the morning. I hadn’t been for a long time and it was so fun! All the songs were new to me which I loved. I changed at the studio, stopped for a coffee (have you tried the vanilla bean cold brew from Second Cup? It’s heaven), and hit the road to Calgary. I stopped in at Ange’s and finished doing my hair and makeup. Our friend Leslie stopped in too and before long we were off for a girls lunch at Craft. Leslie and her husband moved to Texas a few months ago, so it was nice to see her again and catch up.

Missing were Leigh and Nicole who had left before we thought to take a photo.

After lunch, Ange and I headed to Cold Garden for more beer. She hadn’t been yet and it’s one of my favourite breweries in Calgary so I was happy to make it happen. We also made a stop at Made By Marcus and had ice cream sundaes for dinner because it was 30° and seemed like the right thing to do. I was not sad with that decision.

I hit the road home and luckily just missed a huge hail storm that ripped through town. And that was the end of the weekend.

This will be my first full week of work in awhile and I have a feeling it will be a long one since I’m already looking forward to the upcoming weekend’s activities.

What did you get up to this weekend?
