You Don’t Have To Be A Yogi To Wear Yoga Jeans

My Yoga Jeans Story

In the before times (aka: before I became a mom), I was like most twenty-somethings who spent their cash flow on designer duds. My denim collection was fierce and I loved each and every pair just a little too much. Of course, when my son came along, my body shape changed and I no longer had the dollar bills to spend on seasonal shopping sprees for myself. Let’s face it, a certain four-year-old has a better wardrobe than I do. Since ditching the designer denim that no longer fit me (RIP), I was on the search for a pair of quality jeans that wouldn’t break the bank, could become a wardrobe staple, would flatter my figure, and keep up with the demands of being the mom to an active little mister.

Enter Yoga Jeans.

I had a lot of demands for my denim duds and it took me a long time to find a pair that lived up to my expectations. After being sent a couple pairs of Yoga Jeans, I can honestly say that I will probably wear nothing else going forward. The fit is perfect. The high waist keeps everything tucked in where it should be, without the fear of exposing my butt cracked while I’m crouching down to tend to my son. Being a shorty, I thought the ankle length would end up being a regular length on me but it too falls at the right spot for me. I can squat and bend and go about my days without these jeans stretching out, losing their shape and feeling uncomfortable.

Their Yoga Jeans Story

Canadian brothers Eric and Jacob Wazana set out to create the most comfortable jeans in the world and so began Yoga Jeans by Second Denim Co. By studying women’s body shapes and movements, and then deconstructing traditional denim, they created jeans that are so comfortable and flexible that you could literally do yoga in them.

Based out of Montreal, Second Denim Co. has gone against industry standards to ensure their product is socially conscious. Every pair of Yoga Jeans is 100% handcrafted in their Montreal manufacturing facility, ensuring that every pair is made ethically without losing quality.

But Can You Actually Do Yoga In Them?

The philosophy behind the jeans is intended to help you love your body. The tag found in the pocket of every pair of jeans states “Second Yoga Jeans are for those conscious of the unique link there is between the way we treat our body, and how it treats us. Practice your asanas wearing your Yoga Jeans, they are filled with good energies, positive karma and were created to help you feel confident, beautiful and at peace. Love your soul and it will love your body…which will love your Yoga Jeans.” I think this philosophy speaks beautifully to everything I aim to achieve right now, feeling comfortable, confident and loving who you are.

While Yoga Jeans are stretchy enough that you could practice your asanas in them, they aren’t actually made from sweat-wicking material so they might not be the best choice for your sweaty power flow class. But don’t let that stop you from getting bendy to test out the stretch factor and showing off to your friends.

I used to hate anything remotely high waisted until I kids – actually more after Chloe when I was running around after a toddler and had a newborn and had to pull up my pants all the darn time! I need to try these for sure 🙂

I was the exact same way. I preferred low rise pre-kids. Now, I’ll take high waisted everything to keep that whole area tucked and disguised lol

But yes, you do need to try these because they are my favourite jeans ever in the history of jeans.

These pants sound amazing! I need a pair! I can’t stand non stretchy jeans now that I’m older and a mom lol. Also, high waisted is the best! I can’t believe there was a time when I loved low waisted jeans…remember how itty bitty the zipper was on those?! LOL. Mid rise is the worst though! Cuts you right in the muffin top haha. You’ll have to wear your jean coloured ones next time I see you 🙂 How was ordering them – fit true to size?

I think everyone needs a pair of these. I for sure will wear them next time I see you, because it’s probably the only jeans you’ll ever see me where again lol.

I *think* they were pretty true to size, I really just took a wild guess and it worked out perfect.
