Showered With Love

This weekend I went from running the Spartan Race on Saturday to my baby shower on Sunday. Talk about contrast.

I owe many thanks to my mom and my best friend for throwing me such a lovely baby shower. I know it was hard on them as neither of them had ever planned something like that before. They did such a good job. Also thank you to my lovely friends and my family that came up from Calgary. I have to give some special thanks to one of my best friends from Edmonton, Dori, who made the trip early Sunday morning on the Greyhound. That meant the world to me and I couldn’t have been more excited to see her!

Once everyone arrived introductions were made and delicious snacks and beverages were consumed.

Cutest Ever!

The homemade marshmallows and homemade dipped Oreos that my mom made were a huge hit! Once everyone was full on snacks it was time for games. I specifically requested no cheesy/lame shower games, like the one where you have to guess what melted chocolate bar is in the diaper. Gross. Instead they did a word search and a mad lib game. Whoever found all of the words the fastest won, and whoever had the best mad lib won.

After games were presents! I can’t even begin to tell you how thankful I am for all of the wonderful gifts my little guy received. The generosity and love is overwhelming!

I have to show a few of my favorite things the little man received because they are just FAR too adorable:

There was much more fabulous stuff and I wish I could share it all with you…

Once I got home from all of the activities, I took the time to re-read each and every card which made me cry something fierce. I have some really special people in my life and I’m so happy this little man is so loved already.

Now if only all of that love would help me figure out where to put all this stuff!
