While I would like to say that I’m not going to let having a baby hold me back from doing the things I want to do in life, I know that may not be entirely possible. Life is going to be different with a little one to care for, but I know that doesn’t mean my life is over. It’s just going to change. A lot.
That being said, I want to pack as much fun into my ‘last summer’ as possible. I don’t want to look back on this summer and think of it as a complete bore that I wasted away doing nothing. I want to get out and see and do as much as possible!
I have 16 weekends until my due date which in the grand scheme of things, isn’t many. Especially considering I have a number of them already filled up with a trip, races, my cousin’s wedding and my own baby shower!
But somewhere in the mix, these are the things I hope to fit in before the end of summer:
- Drive in Movie
- River floating (at least once!)
- Go carts (I’m pretty sure I can do this pregnant, right?)
- Mini Golf completed July 14
- Corn Maze
- Westerner Days
- Calgary Stampede (Awolnation is playing the Coke Stage!) completed July 8
- Banff hike with possible stop at the Grizzly House for fondue dinner!
- Backyard fire with wiener roast & s’mores
That’s all I’ve come up with so far. I’m hoping that I can fit some, if not all, of those things into my summer. I want to be able to look back and smile at the memories I made and hopefully have lots of fun stories to share with you guys!
Do you have any must see/do things for summer? Anything I should check out before my little bun arrives?

Thats so cool about AWOLNATION, I totally didn’t know that! The grizzly house is so good, but be careful being p/g that you cook everything properly
We went a few years ago and one girl had the shrimp and got food poisoning…whoops!
Do you not need a backyard in order to do a “Backyard fire with wiener roast & s’mores”?
Good thing I have parents and a best friend with backyards and fire pits
